Check out our fishing calendar below for what is in season.

JAN-MARCH

Winter time finds us concentrating on the reef edge. Winter months often find the Gulfstream just off the reef or less than 8 miles offshore. These are great months to target species migrating through the Atlantic using the Gulfstream. Wahoo and Sailfish are common travelers through the area along with Cobia. Reef dwellers such as Yellowtail Snapper and Mutton Snapper are willing biters. It is also the time of year that Kingfish migrate through the Keys.

We normally drift or anchor on the reef edge and fish live baits off of a kite as well as jigging directly on the bottom. As a side note, wintertime is usually the windiest time in the Keys. Temperatures will be in the lower 70’s to low 80’s.

APRIL-JUNE

Mid-April signals the arrival of the Silver King (Tarpon). Tarpons migrate to the Keys in early spring and hang out in the warming shallow water on both the Atlantic and Gulf sides of the Keys. We target the Tarpon under the Seven Mile bridge fishing live bait, (Pinfish and Mullet) and casting soft plastics. At this time of year, your will also encounter Cobia, Jack Crevalle, and numerous sharks that frequent the bridge passes. As winter gives way to spring, winds usually subside and offshore trolling for Mahi Mahi picks up.
