Loreto Fishing Tips and Adventures

Ever heard the song “Cabo Wabo” by Van Halen? It talks about a small, sleepy town south of the border that you’ll want to visit again and again. Well, that town used to be Cabo San Lucas, but times have changed. Now, let me introduce you to Loreto, Mexico. Tucked away on the Sea of Cortez, halfway up or down the Baja Peninsula depending on your perspective, Loreto is like the old Cabo but even better.

It’s laid-back, relaxed, and won’t break the bank, with lower food costs and reduced resort rates. With stunning mountains in the background and a string of islands with hidden coves and stunning beaches, this authentic Mexican town is a paradise for Yellowtail fishing enthusiasts. The Yellowtail fishing season here is from January to April, but even in the fall and winter months, you can still catch world-class Dorado and Tuna. Loreto is the hidden gem you’ve been waiting to discover.

Captain Paco Collins

We’re thrilled to introduce you to the amazing Paco Collins, a true local legend in Loreto. With an impressive lifetime of fishing experience in this beautiful area, Paco has established himself as one of the best captains around. He proudly operates two top-notch Panga Style boats, as well as Toby’s boat, affectionately known as the “Run N Gun.”
