Reel In the Fun with Lyons Ferry Walleye Fishing Trips

Walleye ranging in size from 1 to 17 pounds!

Walleye fishing is offered year-round. Early spring through late summer is prime. Our Lyons Ferry Walleye Fishing Guides operate boats on the Snake River for this fishery near the Lyons Ferry State Park. The Lyons Ferry section of the Snake River is home to Walleye ranging in size from 1 to 17 pounds. Walleye spawn in the Spring and Fall and can be found in shallow flats during that time. In summer they can be found in deeper water near points of sharp ledges and bars. These fish have better vision under low light conditions, making early mornings or late evenings best for fishing, overcast skies, or during windy conditions where sunlight through the water column is obscured. Let our Lyons Ferry Walleye Fishing Guides take you to the hot spots and put you on some of the largest Walleye in the country.

We fish the reservoir formed by Lower Monumental Dam referred to as Lake Herbert. This reservoir spans over 30 miles and has prime spawning habitat for both predator and anadromous fish alike.

Walleye Fishing At it’s Best!

Catch the big one with the best fishing guides in the business.

In the Spring and Fall, some Walleye make their trek into the Palouse and Tucannon Rivers to spawn while some stay in the main reservoir and spawn in the shallow flats. Because of these prime spawning areas, Lake Herbert has the best and most sustainable Walleye fishing out of any of the four reservoirs on the Snake River.

Catching Walleye can be challenging.

Our guides use various techniques to target Walleye. During cold water conditions in the winter and early spring, we will vertical jig using one-ounce jig heads with hootchies and worms. When the water begins to warm, the fish will begin to move into shallower water where trolling deep-diving crankbaits is the key to success. As the season progresses we then follow the fish back into the deep water by trolling worms with bottom bouncers. This method produces the best during warm water conditions. Catching Walleye can be challenging as they tend to move a lot and change what they are wanting to eat. Book a trip with us to take the hassle out of the learning curve.
