An Angler’s Dream Come True – Fishing at Potholes Reservoir with Reel Time Fishing
Potholes Reservoir is an oasis for anglers – a secret haven in the desert where fishing opportunities ebb and flow with the irrigation season. Spring brings high waters that bring fish between flooded willows, trees, and even miles back into dunes!
But don’t worry, when water levels dissipate bass move to shallow structures like rock piles or stumps at main lake structure. A real bonus: hundreds of beaver huts provide year-round hideaways ideal for snagging dinner!
If you want to catch the biggest largemouth bass, timing is key. The best time to catch these elusive fish is from spring to early summer when they’re spawning, and in the fall when they’re feeding before winter. During these times, the bass are more active, and the water temperatures are optimal for fishing. So, plan your trip accordingly and prepare to have some exciting catches.
