Clearwater River Spring Chinook Fishing Report

Clearwater River Spring Chinook – For the first time in 4 or 5 years it is looking like we will be providing trips on the Clearwater River for the prized spring Chinook. The Idaho Fish & Game commission met last week to set the season. Based on forecast numbers and a quota of around 2,500 fish, the commission voted to open the season 7 days a week with a 1 adult 3 jack limit. Fishing generally will pick up mid May depending on run timing and we are hopeful we will be able to fish through the first week of June. This all depends on quota catch and what the run actually comes in as. Since this is the first season in many years we expect to fill boats fairly fast so be sure to get your trip booked early. The calendar will be open from May 15 to June 8 with adjustments made as the run progresses.

Drano Lake Fishing Report

Spring has arrived in the Lewis-Clark Valley and it has us eager to get after our warm weather species. Dates are starting to fill for Walleye, Sturgeon, Bass and Spring Salmon. Cast away your wintertime blues with a fishing trip this spring.

Drano Lake Spring Chinook – we still have a few dates left for our one and only spring chinook fishery. WDFW has cut this season short as well as shut most other fisheries down so we expect seats to go fast.

Astoria Oregon Fishing Report

Fall chinook fishing has been good at our Buoy 10 fishery on the Columbia River. We will be moving upriver to the mouth of the Deschutes River the first week of September. We are currently looking to fill September 1, 2 and 5. A lot of big fish this year!

We are also filling fast for out Hanford Reach fishery. Get in touch with us to get in on this very popular trip. Mid-sept to early Oct.

Fall Chinook Fishing Opportunities

Columbia River Fall Chinook

Buoy 10 / Astoria – With a shortened season, seats for this fishery won’t last long. We are running on a very limited availability this year so be sure to get your trip booked before it is too late. This is one of the most popular Northwest salmon fisheries, where we intercept chrome-bright Chinook and Coho. We also offer a crabbing add-on to your trip.

Visit our Buoy 10 web-page for more info.

Hanford Reach –We will have boats operating the Columbia River along the famous Hanford Reach beginning Mid-September and will operate through the first week of October. With the lower Columbia operating on a shortened season we expect a better-than-average survival of Up River Brights to make it back to the Reach.

Visit our Hanford Reach web-page for more info.

NEW FALL CHINOOK SEASON ON THE CLEARWATER

For the second year ever, we will be allowed to target fall Chinook in the Clearwater River basin. Last year we had a blast catching these fish. Our guides use light-gear, mostly side drifting bait in the slower, deep pools. It was not uncommon for our boats last year to hook 20+ fish a day, with a good share of the fish weighing in the high-teens and into the 20+ pound range. With a better run expected this year we expect the same, if not better fishing.

Limit is 3 salmon a day, one being adipose “in-tact”, two being adipose “clipped”

Open Thur-Sun. We will begin fishing around Sept. 10th and continue into October.

Hanford Reach Chinook Fishing Report

Check out our pictures from yesterday’s King Salmon trip for the next month we will be positioned at the Hanford Reach near Pasco WA catching these beautiful fish.  If we happen to limit early we can mix in some Walleye or catch and release Sturgeon

Hanford Reach Fall Chinook

Columbia River Hanford Reach – Join us for this popular fishery targeting Up River Brights (Fall Chinook). We are excited to find out that this year’s run is expected to come in well over forecast. The limit will be 6 fish with only 2 being adults. This is an improvement over the 1 fish limit that was set earlier this summer. Last year we combo’d walleye fishing with our trips and we plan on offering the same this year. The salmon are fun to catch and often run into the 20 and 30 pound range with many of the walleye hitting the upper 20 and lower 30 inch range.

Seats are limited so don’t wait too long to book. We fish out of Ringold, a short drive from Pasco, WA. We will have boats operating from September 15th till Mid October.
